You, fine disciple of Yeshua, are called to be a light to the world. How will you answer?
This ancient calling of the Hebrew prophets to the people of Israel was reiterated by Yeshua himself to his disciples:
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a basket. Instead, they put it on a lampstand so it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men so they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
How can you be a light to the world?
Start by doing what Yeshua command us: feeding the poor, clothing the naked, visiting the sick, caring for the imprisoned. The world will see your good works and glorify God.
With this divine imperative in mind, we invite you to join Tabernacle of David every other month as we volunteer at Loaves & Fishes. Families welcomed; there’s jobs for people of all ages. At Loaves & Fishes, we purchase the food, cook it, and serve it to about 100 poor, elderly, and folks just looking for a meal.
For our next event at Loaves & Fishes, contact us, talk to one of our leaders in person, or subscribe to our newsletter. We’ll post on our website and in our newsletter a month in advance before our next event.
